I could not finish this book after giving it more chances than it deserves (3:25:02 in). The main character is cringe incarnate. His power is would be cool if it wasn’t linked to his sense of smell which just seems ridiculously stupid even for a fantasy world. There is very little world building or character development. And it feels like this whole book is just one long-winded gimmick. The performance it great but the background music is distracting. I’ve listened to Monster Hunt NYC which also has sound effects and BGM (and is also from this author and narrators) but it does it much better than this book. If you can enjoy this book, kudos to you.
