I found a quick sample of this book on youtube, and I was immediately roped in– I listened to the full 11 hours in one day! This is one of the books that amazingly captures the gay teenage condition. It is sweet, funny, heartbreaking, and most importantly, it’s real. The book does not hide behind this “idyllic gay existence” (where everybody is gay and happy) we young gays love to live by, and that’s one of the things that makes it so emotionally compelling. The book goes through all the emotional turmoil that happens when you fall for a “straight boy”. The tone does change a little bit in the story, I personally didn’t hate it because I was so invested in the characters themselves. Overall, I absolutely loved this story, I cringed, I cried, and I secretly hope we can get another short story involving these characters.
