If you’re looking for 67 hours of background noise for 1 credit, this is what you need right here. But here’s the dealio,.. I would like to give it a 3.5 star across the board, but that’s not possible. That’s why I rated it the way I did. The writing was just “ok.” It didn’t flow as much as I would have liked. It was a whole lot of hours for not a whole lot of anything happening. Character arcs were kinda meh. Sentence structure was kinda like this: “Regular word regular word regular word, out-of-place-premium-thesaurus-inspired-word, regular word regular word.” And the whole back and forth from realm to realm stuff? It got convoluted after a while. Eventually, though, it beat me down into submission and I just let the book abuse my ears until the end. But listen, this person wrote some books and that’s an accomplishment in and of itself. The narrator… Well, I’ll say this; His “normal” voice is pleasing to the ears. But some of his character voices just didn’t fit with the story or what I feel the author intended with his/her character personalities. Seriously, this is a lot of material for one credit. But for reals, no fakes, there’s a whole lotta nothin’ goin’ on here.
