I really liked this story, but I never listen to the sample clips before buying a book and I’m glad I didn’t on this one! it took me a couple chapters to adjust to the narration bc at first it felt monotonous and flat, but I think that was the actor’s take on the military persona of our protagonist. it worked and I ended up not minding but might be something to consider.
