The first book in the series was good and I expected a great story of a young man learning to survive on his own. It quickly turned into a romantic conservative dream where the man must save all the women and be everything to everyone. The big fight between the couple made no sense, and reads like a dictator getting to make all the decisions for a group without ever having any real consequences. There are plenty of good pieces in the story about survival, but overall very unrealistic story. my biggest issue isn’t the plausibility of crime, greed, and survival, but more about Joe’s love life.
