“Broken” is an angsty, intense, steamy, and thoughtful hurt/comfort love story with characters to care about. At its core is a heartbreaking but healing and hopeful story about building trust, opening one’s heart, and finding acceptance.

Jag has been on the run from his influential parents and their abhorrent conversion therapy attempts for four years when he lands a job at the Heaven and Hell Club. Keeping a low profile and remaining detached grows difficult as he struggles against developing feelings in his no-strings relationship with club owner Michael and becomes friends with his coworkers.

Michael knows his talented new dancer is hiding from something, and is careful to respect Jag’s boundaries and not push for the loving relationship he craves. Opening his heart for the first time in many years isn’t without risk, but he’s helpless in falling in love with the skittish young man.

Narrator Piers Ryman delivers a compelling performance that hits the right emotional notes. For any fan of angsty hurt/comfort romances with depth and complex characters, this audio book is definitely worth a listen.
