I really enjoyed this books take on the History of Caesar. It didn’t occur to me to view him from a materialist /class perspective, since we are so inundated with the perspective of him as a tyrant and the conspirators as defenders of the republic, where it seems more like they killed him out of their own class interest and their own holds on power. Really enjoyed this book.
