Lightning doesn’t often strike twice, but it happened with Book 2! It’s fun, sometimes chilling, often hilarious and at its core, deeply heartwarming. Shami’s mischief spirit, Kull, offers a candid, almost child-like take on “what it means to be human”—the kind you might have enjoyed in Star Trek or Quantum Leap. Plus, there’s a new member of the Finch team: a former police officer named Enso, who despite also being a werewolf, teaches us what real love looks like. While I would have enjoyed having Book 1’s Bree along, it’s best that Shami left the kid at home, because Book 2 is definitely edgier. That said, thanks to Kull, aka Fox Pistol, it’s also more optimistic and imho an equal to Book 1’s caliber. Not an easy achievement! So buckle up, mark the time and get ready for another FANTASTIC murder mystery ride with the hard boiled Adair Finch, with a full voice cast by the incomparable Soundbooth Theater team!
