This work speaks volumes of how the author has honed his craft. The “spices” in this books are awesome! and the inventiveness of the military strategies in this book really surprised me (and I am a veteran Military Sci-fi consumer) this book excedes my expectations for it. Compared to his earlier books, the progress is evident. It is a well structured book (not perfect, but very good). Within a military space opera, the character’s had enough depth. The dialogue could be better and his obsession with sex scenes is just “meh” (I don’t think they really add to the book, the concept of “love” or “children” might work better to have the reader grow closer to the characters) The Narration was classic Jeffrey Kafer, he was very good, but he needs to work on the characters voices more. I’ve heard so many books narrated by him that sometimes I feel like the character “Josh” from another very popular series he narrates is present. Overall, like R.C. Bray, you can’t really go wrong with Kafer narrating your book. This book is a must read.
