I have already been a HUGE fan of Kevin Pierce’s narration. Even my husband will stop to listen to the story if Kevin is narrating 😁. But now I have a new favorite author in Chris Pike. “Every” character, whether human or animal or even the sea has a voice. Storylines are intense and the females are not the brainless variety that so any Apocalypse stories seem to be filled with. Case in point, Kate Chandler. The previous 3 books introduce her family members. All of them are the grandchildren of a female Russian WW2 sniper. Funny thing….it’s not long since I finished listening to Kate Quinn’s “The Diamond Eye” about Mila Pavlichenko known as “Lady Death” who spent time with Eleanor Roosevelt during her husband’s presidency.
At any rate, Kate finds her match in Nico Bell, an undercover operative trying to stop drug dealers as the USA is changed by an EMP. Fast action, intense, great prepping tips. And I have the next/last one already so, time to start that one.
