I got this book on a whim not knowing what I was in for. Apparently the author is a big deal in some circles. I was unaware of this before but now I understand why. “I” is original, powerful, and brave. The first person portions could get difficult to listen to, but I can’t deny their power. I’ve only ever experienced a book like this before when it was fiction. Knowing this was non-fiction changed everything, including the way in which I remember those similar fiction books. They won’t feel the same for me after this. I don’t know how many times a book has ever changed my perspective in such ways.
