Cheesy at times, but very good.

As many have said, there are parallels between this piece and firefly. I really enjoyed the world building, and the handling of magic, tech, and non-human races.

Overall, very enjoyable. I had a hard time with Esper as a character in the beginning. Felt the character was too childish, but the character developed well over time.
