This narrator sounds in the verge of tears at every moment and it really takes me out of any story he reads. He always sounds affectedly gruff yet weepy and I should just steer clear
This book has a lot going for it, it’s just lacking development and a lot of it. There’s not much depth or breathing room or back story on anything except the mc. That makes him seem self centered since he’s narrating and gives the impression he doesn’t listen to others or notice the world around him
