Characters randomly betray each other and start killing allies, this was an issue from the first 3 books when Kirus just changed from a bookish young man to a deadly machinating sorcerer. People don’t behave in logical ways in the story it is as if the author looses track of how he originally perceived the characters and starts drifting into different traits. This is not character development, just bad writing
