With a variety of well fleshed out characters , a wonderful magic/battle system, and actual laugh out loud moments, I recommend the whole Cradle Series. I rarely find a series I want to listen to more than once. This is one of them. If had to describe what the series reminds me of, I would say Bleach, Dragon Ball Z, or YuYu Hakisho. This series would be perfect for an anime adaption along those lines as well. Check it out! you wont regret it.
