I picked up this book as a Audible Daily Deal. I’ve enjoyed Jonathan Smidt in the past so I expected Bone Dungeon to be good.
The book started out a little slower than I expected but that was of no consequence as Ryan a newly born dungeon learns his duties and builds his dungeon from scratch and then has ta’ gain strength fast in order to survive. I did find the overuse of the word “hun” annoying though.
The other reason I got the book was ’cause Soundbooth Theater Productions is really good and with just 4 people they can give an audiobook a full cast feel. And they can also blend in music and other sound effects to enhance the story. Unfortunately in this case the music didn’t add anything. (You may wanna check out Wayward Bard by Lars Machműller to find out what it’s like when they do it right!)
So yeah, Soundbooth voice performances, Yay! And the music, Oops.
Here’s a quote that amused me:
“Your not gonna like me when I’m angry.”
