I am disappointed in these audible originals. I feel like I am in 1984 and Audible is cranking out “books” based on algorithms from highly rated titles and genres.
This title is almost impossible to listen to. The narrator speaks so fast that it sounds like it is being played at 1.25x speed. The style does not match the content at all.
This book attempts to bring the reader into some type of fictional native/mystic society, but the language is basic and common. It is boring and seems to go nowhere.
I can’t finish this one and I rarely put down an audible title unfinished. There is no way I will move to the next volumes in this series. I am close to giving up on audible originals all together. These are not art, they are automated, quickly published titles reminiscent of pulp fiction but with less literary substance to bite into.
