I was first introduced to Harmon Cooper with his latest book, Fantasy Online: Hyperborea. I loved it, an so, when I saw this book I snatched it up and man am I happy I did. First, it has my favorite narrator, Jeff Hays rocking the kasbah with his prestigious pipes. Seriously, this cat is the Lon Chaney of vocal emission. He is the hunchback and Esmeralda, The Phantom and Christine! Mel Blanc channeled his unborn spirit. Get the idea? Annie Ellicott holds her ground with Jeff, too, so she must be amazing as well. The production of this audio is like a space shuttle launch. good Stuff.
Harmon, on the other side of the coin, provides them with a powerful story. It is full of action, suspense, and surprises. He takes an unlikely character (a player killer) and makes him a hero. His comrades (RAID) are great, and make for a fun adventuring party. I can see why I liked Fantasy Online: Hyperborea so much. The man can craft a tale in the way Da Vinci could slap some paint on a canvas. You won’t want to stop listening once you get rolling through the book, and you may get irritated when real life intrudes upon your story.
I’ll be getting the next two books ASAP.
So should you.
