From moment one, I knew this was a quirky romp and I was in for it. There are times when I want hard sci-fi, and times when I want exactly this. Fun, goofy, with just the right touches of something darker under the surface. After finishing it, I went ahead and picked up books 2 & 3.
Phil Thron’s delivery really, really worked for me. The little touches on Cal’s delivery, Mech’s alternating voices, and so on pulled me in and made me feel like I was in the story.
Very excited to stick with the series and see where it goes!
