The writer was really lazy with this book. Alfred ends up contradicting everything he says by his actions. He manipulates the world and other characters to create the outcomes wants while saying he wasn’t in not so many words. It is obvious but the main character is too stupid to call him out on it.
The writer also falls back on old played out tropes for most of the book. Geeky main charter love interest crap that has happened in a million books before this one. Bad guy has unbalanced power but dies to monologuing……..
