I loved this book and love the series. I’m kind of anxious about how everything is going to play out on the 9th floor but this book came in swinging with curve balls you can’t see until all the puzzle pieces click into place. If I had to state 1 negative I have it would be how Mordecai has been taking a backseat in his usual role of being a font of information. He still does it but the dynamic they used to have with Carl always asking about stuff is no longer there due to the Dungeon Anarchists Cookbook. Carl will seemingly already have the answers to most problems but since he can just “know” these things he uses Mordecai as a sounding board to “discover” something from the cookbook. I just don’t like how Carl has seemingly absorbed a ton of information from the cookbook that we don’t know about and are only told about it when its necessary. Like apparently the floor 10 safe rooms operate differently and he knew what it meant from the cookbook beforehand but we the listeners don’t. It doesn’t really bother me I’m just concerned the author might make the mistake of accidentally turning Carl into a omnipotent character who can’t openly talk about how much he knows and will act like he has a answer to every solution because he read about it in the cookbook
