When your bread loaf fetch quest is rated legendary there’s a good chance that it has to do with something other that bread. Turns out to be the best quest because bread is everywhere and there isn’t a time limit so go anywhere for as long as you want and just never get a loaf of bread even when you try, lol. What do the stones have planned? Guess we’ll find out.
It was well written, had an enjoyable balance of witty humor and serious emotions, and the characters aren’t two dimensional.
For criticism, I’ll say that it did seem at times like witty banter was used to fill in during situation where slightly messier, more human dialogue would have occurred “normally.” But that’s just my opinion, and the banter did simplify the feel and keep the tone lighter, so it perhaps fits for this listen.
Also, bit more variation in expletives might have been refreshing- I mean seriously, after the first two dozen times “Aela’s tits” starts to feel overused.
Apart from all that, I absolutely enjoyed the listen, and unless quality takes a nose dive in the next book I plan to get to the end of this Broken trilogy.
My thanks to the author and narrator for this one. I wish I had more of these well written light hearted litrpg works to balance out all the unedited, plot challenged, cliche, or otherwise just dark and gory alternatives.
