This book blew my mind and completely wowed me, it is my first book written by Rachel Jonas & Nikki Thorne, it definitely will not be my last. I enjoyed their writing style and the characters and storylines they created. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. It is the type of book that is hard to put down because you need to know what happens next. It is an angsty, intense at times bully romance, you do not know whether to hate or love the bully or bullies, West Golden, his brothers and their entourage, but you will definitely be rooting for the one being bullied, Blue Riley. Blue comes from the other side of town, she has a crap home life and is determined to make something of her life so she can be in a better position to help her younger sister Scarlet have a better life. She gets a scholarship to attend an elite school, Cypress Prep, which should open more opportunities for her future. It is not easy to be a transfer student in the final year of HS but she will just keep to herself and do what she has to do to succeed. It should be easy, right? Not when she caught the attention of the most popular guy in the school, the king and ruler of the school, West Golden. West is the oldest of the three brother, being born minutes earlier than his brothers, Sterling and Dane, he is also the most deviant of the three brothers too. His father lays a more on his shoulder for being the first born, he also knows things his brothers don’t and it is reason for going after Blue, the girl from Southside. But West has met his match in Blue she is no pushover and she gives as good as she gets in their cat and mouse game. The chemistry between these two is electric, each one is broken in their own way yet there is something that draws them to one another. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with layers and depth. There is plenty of drama, angst, twists, thrilling psychological suspense, heartfelt and emotional moments and an enemies to lovers romance. The add of @QweenPandora commentary is brilliant and lightens things up a bit. Rachel Jonas & Nikki Thorne thank you for this awesome story, I am looking forward to what happens next after that mind-blowing ending.
??? And for the wonderful narration, Neill Thorne, Lessa Lamb & Sarah Puckett are the perfect cast to bring the characters and story to life. Their portrayal of each character is spot on, they grasp each character’s persona completely, take the role and make it their own, sounding believable and just how I picture them to sound. Neill Thorne’s West had the right mouth of alpha-tude, Lessa Lamb’s Blue was kickass and Sara Puckett was the perfect QweenPandora. These talented narrators and versatile voice artist are entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen?
