When I chose to review this book, the first reason was the narrator. I absolutely love Joel Leslie as a narrator. The second reason is that I have yet to read or listen to a Lily Morton book I didn’t like. I have to say, this one might be one of the best ones yet. Let’s get into it. As usual, I will review the story and the narration separately.

STORY – 5 STARS

I don’t know where to begin. From sweet and charming to steaming and then emotional…I felt like I was being pulled in all different directions but in a good way. Pip and Olivier don’t have an easy road ahead of them, not that they initially want one beyond what is casual, and yet, they fit together like two jagged puzzle pieces. But wait, there’s more. If you think this is going to be sweet and romantic, it’s not. Lily Morton weaves the tale to give you epic highs and lows and throw in just the right amount of drama. The characters have a lot to learn and need to grow a lot. Will they? Can they? I have to say, there were a couple of times when I was on edge and felt like it was being drawn out too much, but there is a reason, and I loved every minute of this book.

NARRATION – 5 STARS

Joel Leslie has a way of bringing characters to life. He can do the accents, make the characters individuals, and somehow everyone sounds different. So many voices from one person. He did it once agan with French Fancy. I felt like Pip, Olivier, and everyone was right there with me, acting out the book in front of me.

OVERALL – 5 STARS

I loved this book and the narration just enhanced it even more. I highly recommend downloading this book today! 5 stars!
