The plot is really slow, the RPG elements are just copied from other similar LitRPGs, and really it is all just boring. It feels like Antonio wanted to do to much, way to fast. A lot of time is spent on world and game building, but it just slows the story down and adds very little substance. Dante’s as a character is very inconsistent, his background, personality, and knowledge just don’t match. The whole mistreated orphan thing only lasts a chapter or two, then he becomes this RPG guru who treats some skills with in depth knowledge and others like a novice.

As a step into the LitRPG genre this book isn’t the worst, but not so much after you already have a few books under your belt.

Jeff Hayes is great as always, but he can only spice up a bland book so much.
