Having enjoyed the previous 3 books in this series, I fully expected to be entertained in this one as well.. But no such luck. The plot was mediocre at best, and the better part of the entire book focused solely on the battle/race, all the while not providing any real trouble as the MC has evolved a thicker plot armor than Jon Snow!
At no point in this entire book were I even remotely worried for the MC or his Haunt.
Hugo should be able to do better, I know he can do better. This feels like a draft.
