This is like the second half of the first book, rather than a standalone novel. It drags on and on and on needlessly.

there’s a gay character. That’d be no problem normally, but this book spent what must have been a full hour on how he’s gay, and how gay he is, and by the way he’s gay, and did we mention he’s gay? Get over it already! This bogs the whole book down even when the character isn’t on screen.
