- This book is like mixing a novel with a video game manual. Half the book is listening to an arrogant ass complain about his situation that keeps getting easier to deal with through actions which are not his own. The other half is listening to him list and explain all his stats and abilities as he levels up, often multiple times. Every time the main character injures someone, we have to go through how much damage was done, what percentage of health was dealt, how much mana it took, and/or the percentage of mana it took out of the main character’s mana pool.
I was shocked that such a highly recommended book was so terrible.
The narrator was fine though. No complaints about him
