I thoroughly enjoy this series. The story is interesting, the writing is witty and laugh out loud funny more often than I would expect, and the performance is spot on. The first three books excellent in my opinion. this one did not disappoint but it left a little to be desired in some aspects. That by no means is a detriment to my opinion of overall body of work, but in contrast to the previous three books I found myself enjoying this the least out of the four I’ve read. The time travel, alternate dimension, sci-fi elements really started to bog down the storytelling and it was annoying to keep up with at times. I understand the necessity for it, given the way the story is going, but none the less my eyes glazed over a few times and I had to backtrack a bit to make sure I was current with my understanding of what was happening.
that being said, I very much enjoyed the introduction of new characters, especially ones that were forecast in previous books. this is a great read, and consistently entertaining.
