This is Book 3 in the Leafy Hollow Mysteries. Verity Hawkes is a young widow who has inherited her aunt’s home and lawn service business in the small Canadian town of Leafy Hollow. As she settles into her new life she makes new friends and garners interest from the handsome local police officer. The disappearance of her aunt becomes more muddled and mysterious.
In this book, a well-known Black Widow murderer is released from prison and arrives back in Leafy Hollow. When a well-known member of the community dies under mysterious circumstances, Verity cannot help but get involved in sleuthing with the help of her friends. As with the previous books, this is an enjoyable listen. There is a alot of humor as well as unexpected twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoy this series and look forward to the next books in the series!
Narrator Petrea Burchard is enjoyable to listen to. She has a delightful voice to listen to and I now really identify her with Verity.
