For the first episode in the series, it is passable. i was intrigued on how he would get out of situations, and it did not feel cheap or cheating the way the skills were used. However, thats just basic good writing, the character himself is bland chaotic good. the kind where his own morals trump everyone around him.
Dont get me wrong i still got the second book, and recomend getting this one. Just there are better ones, but also waaaaay worse ones.
