A generally engrossing book of forensic investigations, but it gets derailed at times with detours into the psychological trauma of family and investigators. I suppose that is to be expected in this kind of book, particularly the compartmentalization necessary for those involved. But the presentation of it is so cloying and saccharine that it distracts from the strength of the book, which is the dispassionate forensics. All in all, a good story, just with some tangents.
