I admit, if it hadn’t been for the glowing reviews, I may not have made it past the first chapter. I found the beginning a little slow and uninteresting, not my typical genre. I am so thankful for the encouragement to stick with it. Almost as soon as Louise’s story began I was hooked. Each character has flaws (that brought various emotions such as anger or disgust) as well as strengths to make them like able. I never was left feeling like something was missing, wondering how in the world the author thought jumping from point A to point K was believable. I’m genuinely impressed by Mrs. Austin’s ability to weave such a meaningful and compelling story, made all the more beautiful by its portrayal of the Gospel. I plan to enjoy this one again.
