I’ve listened to over 300 books this year, and this is my #1 favorite to date. This is saying a lot, since I watched it pop up in my suggestions over and over and I kept passing it by. I’ve listened to most of JA’s work prior to this, except the fantasy stuff. I’m not usually into fantasy, so I kept passing it over until I started seeing all the rave reviews popping up. I decided to give it a chance and am so glad I did. I could not stop listening, and I didn’t want it to end. This is the first book that has reeled me in like this in a long time. Most books this long seem to drag on and on, but this one remained interesting to the very end. The world building was phenomenal. The plot was well thought out, and the voice actors were top notch. Even if you’re not really into fantasy, give this one a try.
