There are three stories I’m super into in this genre Noobs, He who fights with Monsters and Dungeon Crawler Carl.
I’ve got to say, of those, Dungeon Crawler Carl is arguably the best. It’s funny, the character development is fantastic and the story is unexpected.
Aleron Kong may be the daddy, but Matt Dinniman is his overacheiving boy…
