I’ve read dozens if GameLit series, and this one somehow slipped through the radar until recently. I wish is found it sooner, as this is now my favorite by a long shot. Oster definitely hasn’t written a Mary Sue, and the struggles the characters go through feel real and difficult. The game elements are really interesting and brought in a way thats fresh and intriguing. The concept of advancement and cash being tied together is brilliant, and really makes for interesting decisions. the dungeon design gave me the tingles, reminding me of Dungeon Core stories. if you haven’t read this yet, read it. Tell your friends to read it. Play it over the loudspeaker at your local Toyota then event.
