I liked the other 3 books in the series, but they had some aspects I wasn’t too keen on. Mainly the gratuitous sexual violence. Even though some of those themes are still present, it felt a bit more ummm… consensual-ish? I’m still a little on the fence about a “15 year old” being so sexually active, but it’s legal in the book so… /shrug. It’s fiction, book guess.
The character list definitely grows with this volume. New minions for Boxxy’s bidding. It does get a little chaotic towards the end, I had to re-listen to the last couple chapters to get it all in.
I think this is definitely becoming a more cohesive and character building story. Some fun twists and some old friends. If you’ve read the other books, this one sets the bar. Anxiously awaiting the next volume!
