This is the first series of this genre I’ve ever read, (listen to) and after the first book I was automatically hooked. From the first book to this book, the characters are engaging, funny, witty, and relatable. I wish I could explain exactly how much I enjoy this series but I don’t think I have the capability of putting it into actual words. All I can say is it has kept my interest completely. where this last book was over 20 hours long and I finished it within two days, OK three days barely. I find myself rereading it more than once. each book I’ve listened to at least twice, and I cannot wait for the next one. I enjoy at the very end of each book that they have some kind of spoof, commercial for SOUNDBOOTH Theater, it’s always something fun to hear, and it’s a nice way of ending the book. I also feel it’s leaves the lister wanting more, but not in any way that pisses you off because the books always leaves you hanging and wanting more but this helps. at the end of one the last books I about died laughing at the grocery store, hearing the commercial for sound booth theater, where they made fun of themselves and the sound ppl. Mind you I am in my early 40s and mother of five, and I’m snort laughing while trying to get chocolate milk in my cart.
I try to listen to different genres and this was just not one that I thought I would be too interested in but to find out that it has suppressed any other book that I’ve read (I have over 250 books in my audible) bit this is the one that I have read the most and I have recommended it the most just because it literally brings me joy.
I’m not in anyway a professional, I’m just a lover of books, but I love this writers style of writing, because it’s very personable, and he makes you feel like you can relate to each and every single one of the characters. You know who the bad guys are and who are the good guys, I feel like Carl is not too much of one type of person as a character and each book he grows as that character. I absolutely love, princess donut I feel like we could be friends. I feel like she might be my spirit animal. I’m definitely part of the princess posse. I hope the writer MATT DINNIMAN will read this and know that he has made at least one person’s absolute day by reading his books and thank you for writing such amazing books. You are my absolute favorite writer and I can’t wait to get my hands on anything and everything that you have your hand in creating.
And from left field, I absolutely loved the end of this one where they talked about the names in Washington state, (and the messed up ways ppl say the names) which made me so excited, BECAUSED born, and raised in Yakima, Washington. (Just a small even more f-up named town within Yakima county)
