Best book of the series, even including the next one

I’ve read all of these, up to and including the Butcher’s Masquerade, and I still think this is the best one of the series. Jeff’s narration is simply amazing!
The NPC‘s are very enjoyable, especially Samantha and Juicebox.

I appreciate Donut’s character growth, while she still continues to have cat-like tendencies. Unfortunately this gets a little bit undone in the next book.

The lute is cool and interesting, and the world outside the dungeon is getting fleshed out in delightful ways.

The one thing I really don’t like and can’t stand, is Matt constantly taking gods name in vain. I don’t mind a good MF every 30 seconds or so, but seriously nobody curses in their inner monologue (or outer dialog, for that matter—I’ve known loads of military types and grew up in a very blue collar family) as frequently as Carl does, and I—as do others—find it flow-breaking and unnecessary.
