Best book in the series!

I am so enjoying this series and the narration! Of all the books so far, this one is easily my favorite.

All of the books have been complete stores. I loved how this one, in particular, made reference to the prior issues. Even if you had not listened to those books (and shame on you), you were still able to get the feel for how the Pickett’s came to be. Since this book focused a lot on John and Juia’s relationship, it was especially rewarding to be reminded of a few elements of their past.

While I’m always going on and on about how great this narrator is, for this book I need to acknowledge the author. Cobb South can write! From the very beginning, the relationship between John and Julia is pretty special. John is on police work but takes his wife along and of course, mystery. The mystery was solid but it was the interplay between the two characters that made this listen They laughed, loved and lounged together. I loved their dynamic and it made for a great backdrop to the mystery.

I love this series but I think this book has a special place in my heart.
