This is a unique audiobook experience in part thanks to SoundBoothTheater efforts in narration/production of this series. The voices are extremely well done and fit the characters. The production of audio effects are not too overtop to be distracting, but also add a new special element to the story. I love the AI voice and Princess Donut..and if you make it as far as book 5 you get to hear some humorous singing.
The story itself is very creative and funny. I like books with intelligent main characters who outsmart their competition. This series has two main characters, Carl and Donut (a talking cat!). Although the idea of an apocalypse that leads to a dungeon crawl is a bit ridiculous it leads to a fun adventure with a number of interesting characters if you’re willing to suspend a little disbelief. I don’t have any cons for this series. The books keep getting better and after sucking me in have been gobbled up multiple credits. The author has a well supported Patreon for this series and appears to be turning out books within a year. It seems that we will be getting a lot more additions to this series in the future.
