I did not expect to like litrpg…this is my first ever. That said, this book is now my favorite audiobook of all time. This is the best narration I have ever heard, beating out my other all time favorites of Andy Serkis in LOTR and Michael Kramer in the Stormlight Archives.
The book is fun with great action and personality balance. The humor is really sold well by Jeff Hays’ narration. My wife tells me I have no soul because I rarely laugh out loud, but found myself audibly chuckling multiple times while shaking my head with a wide grin while listening to this book.
Simply said, this series has taken the place at the pinnacle of my list of all time favorites.

Disclaimer: there is a fair amount of swearing in this book, so it may not be appropriate for all audiences. That said, as someone who refrains from swearing other than when smashing my thumb with a hammer or stepping on a Lego, I have to say the swearing is all done in the most humorous way with excellent timing, which makes it not feel gratuitous.
