Jay Allan’s Blood on the Stars series is Grade A military sci fi. This book got lazy on a couple points – the specifics of Baron’s and Dauntless’ troubles were predictable based on previous books in the series. I wish Allan had been more creative with how their troubles arose during the climactic battle.

The ending was shocking and the book well-written, so I only knocked one star off for the story – because it is still a good installment in a great space military sci fi series.
