Son is a classic in the ‘True Crime’ genre. Jack Olsen is faultless with his attention to detail and no stone left unturned. However that being said be warned that every detail of each crime is there to be listened to. Subsequently this book could be very disturbing for some people.
As I listened to this book I felt that it was more of an in-depth study of the psychopathic personality and found it intriguing. This serial rapist was blessed with good looks and was judged accordingly for many years as was his Mother who is also an important character in this case.
Kevin Pierce gives a riveting performance from the first sentence which makes the most distressing parts of this book far easier to tolerate.
A great book by a talented author performed by one of the best narrators in the business.
