Set during the 1918 flu pandemic, we see a glimpse into a world similar to the one we are in today except that they had far fewer resources to deal with their pandemic. Lovely historical fiction imagines the lives of those who lived through it and survived it, and also many who did not. It showed us that life does go on, not always the way we planned but that our tragedies help us to find joy and maybe even peace on the other side. I can’t wait to discuss this book with my book club.
