Another amazing book in this series! Joker started out as very difficult to like because of the barbs he seemed to continually throw at others. But as the book went on I started to see the soft, vulnerable side of Joker. The side that desperately wanted to be loved but was so scared of being rejected that he was afraid to show it. Brennan saw beneath the brash exterior early on and gave Joker endless patience, and reassurance that he was going nowhere. This slowly gave Joker the confidence to slowly open up to Brennan and let him see the vulnerable side of him. Despite the brusque lead character this book was soft and sweet. Really enjoyable.
