I love Jude and Kasper’s story. We get a taste of Jude in His Boy to Cherish as Ben’s best friend and he was a bit loud and very sarcastic. You don’t have to be familiar with the other story to understand this one (but it’s super cute as well). Here we get to see more sides to Jude as he is still processing being discharged from the military for his PTSD. He’s in a bit of a status as he’s not sure what he wants to do and just shuffling a bit day to day. Luckily he meets Kasper at a Cuff’d get away and I love how they talk a lot and get to know each other. We don’t have to wait too late for the sparks to fly between these two but there’s a beautiful relationship that’s begun first which I think is important for Jude. Kasper on the other hand hasn’t been on a holiday in forever trying to get his student debt paid off. I think Jude helps to keep him from overworking and burning out nicely. They definitely bring out the best in each other and Kasper deftly handles Jude’s PTSD episodes.

Piers Ryman is an excellent narrator and he did an amazing job of bringing Jude and Kasper to life. His performance during Jude’s episodes definitely got me choked up! So much emotion from Jude during those moments and Kasper’s concerned worry was spot on! You definitely won’t regret taking a chance on this one and it’ll leave you feeling happy and warm inside!
