Beautiful Distractions by Lydia Michaels
5 Star Review
Mallory Fenton is working on improving her body and self-esteem. She was recently told by her physician that she is morbidly obese. Due to her weight and the daily put downs, she receives from others, Mallory believes there is no way possible anyone could possibly love her for who she is. Finnegan “Finn” McCullough is a small-town lumberjack. Finn is in a relationship with a self-centered woman who can’t seem to find happiness with Finn.
When Finn finds Mallory running through the woods on his family’s property he is instantly attached. Insisting its not safe for her to find her way back alone he gives her a ride, hoping she takes him up on his offer to meet again. When Finn’s relationship with Erin comes to a halt, Finn realizes its not Erin who makes him happy.
I was given the opportunity to listen to Beautiful Distractions via audiobook. I was instantly attached to Mallory’s character. The way Mallory guarded herself because of her weight really resonated with me. I was rooting for Finn the entire time. I desperately wanted Mallory to let him in and love her the way she deserved to be loved. I recommend this book to all romance genre lovers. Beautiful distractions is part of a series. It is not required to have read book one prior to this one, however I will be reading many more from this series in the near future.
