First this is the 3rd narrator for this series… C’mon man… I prefer the original narrator Cynthia Holloway. The others are ok but why mess up a good thing. Plus Holloway had a great Mircea voice… the others are MEH.
This was one of those books where the author had a stack of notes and ideas that she wanted to put some where. A lot happens just to find out that nothing happens… It feels like when you get dressed, drive to the story, put all your items in the cart, and then realize you left your purse. So you have to leave a cart full of stuff and drive back home with nothing…. that is exactly how I felt about REAP THE WIND. I did a lot of listening… but in the end I was in the same situation.
I also have a few issues with how Cassie goes back in time and returns to present day and absolutely nothing has changed. Even small things will change the future… Example: If you bump someone and they spill coffee on their shirt, they will go home to change and miss the guy they were destined to meet in that coffee shop. They don’t get married 2 years later nor have kids with that guy… kids who may have been important in your future… but maybe I’m just being picky because this book didn’t give me what I wanted.
Here is what I wanted:
Cassie has been belittled for 6 books. It is overdue that begins to realize she needs to be forceful. They need her. (Like Rhianna’s song Needed Me)
Cassie finally has someone who can give her some background and history. But she uses it sparingly. Why? Get this chick to give you history lessons and learn as much as possible.
Cassie has been saving Pritkin for 2 books now. Cassie needs to get this done. It’s overkill now. Get it done.
I so want Mario to get a girlfriend. I’m thinking Tammy. Get some swirl in this book.
I’m so ready for a Mircea and Pritkin tension moment where they realize she loves them both. Personally, I haven’t we used which of the guys I want her to end up with. I would probably say I’m leaning toward Mircea. A better Mircea who doesn’t treat her like a child.
But I didn’t get what I wanted.
Honestly you could skip this book and go directly to the next one. The only thing that’s new or meaningful is finding out who Cassie’s new assistant really is.
