This was pretty basic. I almost stopped listening after the first few chapters but I had a long drive and nothing else to listen to. The Narrator isn’t that good but he grows on you over time. Just not quite right for the protagonist. Not many surprises or much in the way of surprising twists. Pretty much straight up. Character development was kinda weak. That is good if you don’t want to have to diverge from the story much, and this doesn’t diverge much. Standard warp drive, space lasers, and etc. So, no new ideas regarding space warfare. It killed 34 hours for me while I’m waiting for the books I really want to listen to, to come out. There seems to be other books from this universe out there. But I don’t plan on listening to them.
